Background
TRANSED was founded by the Transportation Research Board of the United States in 1978. The conference is jointly sponsored by transportation research committees and is held every three years. The first TRANSED was held in Cambridge, UK. Over the years, TRANSED has been held in 11 countries, including the United States (Orlando), Canada (Vancouver), Sweden (Stockholm), France (Lyon), Australia (Perth), Poland (Warsaw), Japan (Hamamatsu), China (Hong Kong), and India (New Delhi). TRANSED 2015 took place in Lisbon, Portugal, in July.
